Thoughts on Hope & Opportunity During Difficult Times 🧠🌅

Finding Hope Through Fear and Uncertainty
Hi Reader,
I'm hoping this message finds you as well as you can be. Wow, are we already almost to the month of March? Time does fly. Please read on for some recent thoughts and a lot of new resources I've been working on. As newsletter subscribers, you all get early and expanded access to anything I create.
Seeing Possibilities in the Chaos
Only a few months into the new year, I'm seeing (and feeling) a lot of emotions around the state of politics, and in general. Some are scared, some are mad, some are excited, and a whole lot in between. Within these emotions there is a lot of conflict as both "sides" fight and resist each other.
While I'm all for resisting systems and policies that negatively impact us, I think we can easily get caught up in resisting people as part of a group because of their beliefs.
As the systems of wealth and corporate control make it harder to live and thrive and continue to squeeze us all, I believe we have a huge opportunity here to make connections and find common ground. As "leaders" and those in power continue to grow their wealth while cutting supports and making resources scarce for the rest, I think we'll have more possibilites to re-connect than ever. More than ever, people are waking up!
If we are to "resist" anything, I think one way is by building relationships. Difficult in these times? Yes. But, I think any seeds we plant now will go a long way in the future. This is exactly what the system doesn't want, which is why they encourage us to blame and fight each other rather than connect and collaborate together.
I'm calling this "Relationships as Resistance". So much of the work I'm doing is based on ideas similar to this. So, thanks for being along for the ride.
More Ways to Connect & Learn
I'm giving YouTube a try
As mentioned in my previous newsletter, I'm focused on creating this year. This means a lot more ways you can connect with my work as well as learn and practice skills in connection, leadership, and solidarity. Here's a recent list of all new resources:
Resource Page - Finally! A place where everything can be viewed in one place. This is brand new, and still a work in progress (please be gentle!), but will be the home for all videos, recordings, downloads, guides, books and inspirations around this work. This is where you can view/download my last event "Leading with Responsibility".
I've been experimenting more with social media. You can follow me on your favorite platform via my signature at the bottom, as well as check out a recent YouTube playlist of short videos (3mins each), around the idea of resisting systems vs people.
On YouTube, I also launched a teaser video for 2025. I'd love a follow if you're a YouTuber. I'll be experimenting with more videos there this year.
Next Learning and Practice Event
Thursday, March 13th 4:00pm PST: Workshop - Learn communication skills for better conversations and connection
In my opinion, we're rarely given opportunities to learn and practice communication skills. Considering we spend most of our lives communicating with other people, this feels like an incredibly important topic to practice when possible.
On Thursday, March 13th at 4p pacific, join us for a workshop where we'll review ways you can better align and "synchronize" with people in conversation. These skills can help you better understand people, have people understand you, and overall help deepen connections (and thus, relationships). I think all of this can lead to more (and better) opportunities to create and collaborate with others.
That's all for now. Thanks so much for reading! At any time, you can see my latest writing on my blog, join one of my groups, or learn how you can work with me directly.
This journey is my attempt at making our relationships stronger and our world a little more connected; I’m grateful you’re part of it.
Let's keep in touch! Don’t hesitate to reply to any emails or the social links below with your questions or thoughts—I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks again for being here, and I look forward to staying connected.
